Haven Charter High School is a free public charter school open to New York City families. Our admissions process is designed to be fair, clear, and accessible for all families.
Any student who is eligible to attend public school in New York State may apply to Haven Charter High School for the grade levels we serve.
Families can submit an application during the open admissions period. To be included in the main lottery, applications must be received by the posted deadline.

If we receive more applications than available seats, students will be selected through a random public lottery, as required by New York State law.
All eligible applications submitted by the deadline will be included in the lottery.
As permitted by law, admissions preference may be given to:
If a student is not offered a seat through the lottery, they will be placed on our waitlist based on the lottery results and any applicable preferences.
Applications submitted after the deadline may still be accepted, but they will usually be placed on the waitlist after all on-time applicants.
If a seat becomes available, our team will contact families using the information provided on the application.
Families who are offered a seat will need to complete registration and submit all required enrollment documents by the deadline provided.
